RobBrown
I have just aqquired a Compaq Presario, it was free, but particularly old so I'm taking this as more of an experiment, if it works I'll be happy but if not then it's no big loss, it works well as a w7 machine. anyway to cut to the chase, I have tried iPC as a distro, and I've tried using a standard bootloader and leopard retail disk, both methods have taken me past the grey apple screen to a blue screen where nothing happens further than this, I've no idea what this is to do with but.... What is the best method for me to attempt, Boot 123 or Distro based installs? Any ideas as to why both don't even get to the install? Oh, and I have seen videos of people running leopard on the c500, I would like to run snow leopard but it doesn't bother me too much, any ideas? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/247045-presario-c500-best-method/ Share on other sites
RobBrown
I have tried once more booting with boot123 in cpus=1 -x -s -v mode together after a very long wait loading kexts and drivers I got this BSD root:: disk1s2, major 14, minor 5 RTL8139:: fixnetflow control, flow control disabled Single user boot -- fsuk not done root device is mounted read only then it says something about making changes to fsuk or typing exit to boot Then crashes? Any ideas? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/247045-presario-c500-best-method/#findComment-1636543 Share on other sites
