Hi folks,

I tried to install a new Mac osx Snow Leopard 10.6.2 as new in my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21M laptop.

I made a partition on my hdd (at the end, after Windows 7 partition)

I boot my Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard dvd, format th enew partition as Machintosh journaled case-sesitive.

The in the configure screen I selected:

Snow Leopard 10.6.2 Combo update

and the boot loader newer version.

The Installation goes ok but at the first boot (with -v) I have a Kernel Panic with this as last instruction befrore:

ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::gathercstateoverrides - failes to set c-state demotion data: -1

what's the problem????

this is the kernel.log:

Update:

I successfully installed iaktos s3 on my vaio but...

it doesn't recognize the keyboard and touchpad, I have to use external usb devices...

During installation I've selected VoodooPS2 kext, thinking it was the solution, but nothing.

What have I to do???

  • 2 months later...

HI, i successfully installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3 + Combo update to 10.6.6 on my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21M

I used nawcom BootCD + Snow Leopard Retail 10.6.3 DVD.

It works well ( bluethoot, video card ( no QE/CI on internal LCD), CPU , soundcard , Touchpad, network ethernet card, ecc.)

What don't work --> Wifi Intel PRO 3945, WebCam.

Hint : install SL with an external monitor LCD attached to notebook , then remove/delete NVDANHal50.kext from

System/Library/Extensions/ ...

Now internal LCD works .... but without QE/CI :)
