After several attempts and much trial and error at installing mac snow leopard on my intel pc, I am pulling my hair out and looking for some genuine help or someone to point me in the right direction! I have successfully installed snow leopard on my intel pc using [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url], had a play around and I'm loving it! I updated, ran [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] and used the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] option. I have tried this method several times and still can only boot using [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] and safe mode. (I could boot without safe mode using [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] without my graphics card) I had a look around and did a bucket load of reading and realised that [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] isn't suited to my hardware (pentium dual core 3.0ghz) I've also realised that my bios keeps re-setting every time I try to boot into mac, thus giving me kernel errors. Once I get the kernel errors I can no longer boot at all, even with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]. That then took me to think that I need to extract a DSDT file once up and running and use the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] dsdt option, I tried a few things but this is mainly going over my head now. Could anyone please point me in the right direction or offer up some kind of tut?? I am well experienced with windows but when it comes to mac osx, I'm a newbie! All that said, I have had enough of windows and really want to migrate to mac!! Genuine help only please! Cheers! Can you clarify: - What motherboard revision - What BIOS version - What specific processor - What specific video card It seems as if you should be able to get it basically functional. There's a a checkbox while using [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] post-installer. You should check all the boxes after the first two. So, either check User or Easy, then the rest. That will include Chameleon Bootloader. Now, my issue is dual booting. Every time I want to use my Mac, I have to either put in the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] or press F12 on boot. But, it doesn't bother me to the point where I'll research it. Tried installing chameleon and still couldn't get past the apple screen. The only way I can boot into mac SL is with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]! Any genuine suggestions? Thanks in advance. dothacker Posted February 7, 2011 Share Posted February 7, 2011 Bios resetting is because either you have lack of or maybe wrong version of ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext. RTC = Real Time Clock. This kext prevents your BIOS from being reset everytime you reboot. make sure that that is in your system. how about you boot with -v so you can see what kext is kicking your install out, and might help us troubleshoot what your problem is, instead of telling us our suggestions aren't GENUINE because you think we don't know what we're talking about. Then take a pic / screenshot of your screen with the kernel panic, then attach it to your next post, then wait for someone to clarify what the GENUINE problem is so you can work on your machine. so, to sum it up: Boot with -v take a screenshot / photo of the kernel panic in the screen attach it to your next post wait for someone to reply.
