Hi

I have a dell precision t7500 workstation with dual xeon x5560 and 48 gig of ddr3 ecc ram,

the motherboard is Intel 5520 chipset.

If i use only one processor i can boot vanilla kernel any version up to the latest, but if i use dual processor i can only use legacy kernel, but only 10.3 works for me, no luck with 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6.

I can update my snow leo to 10.6.6 but i have to use legacy kernel 10.3.

When i try other legacy kernel like 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 , I get kernel panic.

is there a difference with the newer legacy kernels ? 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 ?

no, just stay 10.3 if you get panics on other kernels.

Yeah i stayed with 10.3, but cant get 64 bit to work properly. thats why im trying to use a newer legacy kernel.

Or is there a way to make 64 bit work properly on 10.3 ?

i have been using legacy 10.6.0 and only running on 32 bit. is there a particular reason why you want 64?

I have 48 gigs of ram and would like to use all of it
