Hi what does arch=i386 mean? I always type this on the boot screen in order to go online.

 

You can add "arch=i386" in your com.apple.boot.plist file (/Extra folder) under Kernel Flag as a <string>arch=i386</string> so that you don't have to type it every time.

Or maybe you need updated network drivers.

It means you use the i386 architecture and thus a 32 bit kernel and extensions.

 

But why even if there's arch=i386 in my com.apple.boot.plist, if I take a look "all Processes" with Activity monitor app, ALMOST all "Kind" of the processes are indicated as 'Intel 64 bit"?
