1. What's the best osX86 for me?

I used "Empire EFI 1.085 R2 AMD" to install OSX on my Phenomii x2 550 + MSI 785GM. Then once I was in I used the nawcom legacy kernel...after combo update + myhack. I also had to put "busratio=18" before you select the SnowLeopard installation disc.
2. What does arch=i386 mean?

You can add "arch=i386" in your com.apple.boot.plist file (/Extra folder) under Kernel Flag as a <string>arch=i386</string> so that you don't have to type it every time. Or maybe you need updated network drivers.
3. I have 10.6.3 with the 10.3 legacy kernel installed. The reason why I haven't updated to anything higher is because everything seems to run smoothly and the sound works. Last time I updated to 10.6.5 I was having sound issues. The only major issues I'm having now is that Front Row is not even opening. Spotlight+Itunes works without any patches. I don't want to mess around with AMD utility because I read that when the legacy kernel is installed the updated apps get cpuid patched. I've noticed that when I run any openCL benchmarks it says "bad cpu type". Does this have anything to do with anything? Appreciate any info.
4. Explaination on what's happening with voodoohda

With kextutility yes.
5. I installed VoodooHDA recently and wanted to try something else so I removed the kext(it was causing intermittent kernel panics...or so I thought anyway) from extra/extensions folder and removed the applehda kext and ran pfix. The next time I rebooted I got a kernel panic again. So I rebooted but this time I got to the desktop and the sound was still working. . THere is no voodoohda kext in the extensions folder...there is one in some backup/extensions folder. Is the kext being loaded from there some how? I've also noticed that everytime I run pfix, the next reboot causes kernel panics..voodoohda related. But one more reboot and I'm in...with everything intact. What is happening?
6. I guess I'm the only one with this issue. I couldn't be bothered with it so I plugged the dvd in 3.5" HD external usb enclosure just to see if it worked...and it does. So basically I have to use a external dvd drive. Oh well, watchu gonna do.
7. SB710 is the chipset, I'm assuming, that runs the IDE channel...it's causing a lot of issues for me. Whenever I put a disc in it says "Unable to read" or something of that nature. This is post installation. Everything is fine during the installing using the Empire 1.085 AMD boot disc. Running the 10.6.0 legacy kernel. I managed to get it working once but I'm not sure what I did...I was in the middle of messing around with other kexts and when I rebooted I saw the disc symbol on the desktop and I was able to access it. Help in the right direct please. Thanks
8. I saw a website recently which had a Mac application somebody made for installing OSx86 on a bunch of Gigabyte and one MSI board but I can't find it anymore. Anybody know?
9. So I'm at my wits end. I'm not sure how to get s3 sleep going with 10.6.4. This is how I got SL on my PC. I did a retail install of Snow Leopard using Empire_EFI to do the install and then once i got to the desktop I updated to 10.6.4 and then ran myHack 1.1. After than I ran the DSDT Patcher GUI. I have sleepenabler , nullcpupowermanagement, evoreboot, fakesmc in the Extra/Extensions folder and did the rebuild permission with kext utility. Now whenever I try to make the computer go to sleep, the monitor will turn off but the computer won't completely go to standby because the fans are still running. Should I be getting rid of nullcpupowermanagement and sleep enaber since i have a dsdt thingamajig sitting in the root directory after I ran the DSDT patcher GUI and i don't need these two things? This is beyond me comprehension.
10. Now only if I could figure out this sleep problem, that would be champ.
11. Thanks Gringo...that worked out great.
12. I recently installed OS 10.6.4 on a P5B Deluxe + Core2Duo computer. I used a retail DVD of Snow Leopard and used Empire_EFI cd to do the installation. Then I did a 10.6.4 update and ran "MyHack 1.1". Everything is almost perfect except I can't wake the computer backup from sleep mode. And it's not going into sleep completely...the fans remain on. I have a Belkin 802.11n(AR5416) pci card in the computer which was detected as Airport out of the box by the operating system...could this be causing the issues? Anybody with a P5B Deluxe got sleep mode working perfectly? If so, how did you do it? Second issue I had was when I click on "More Info..." under Serial-ATA I don't see ICH8R...it says Vendor: Unknown Product: AHCI Standard Conroller. Is this normal? I could have sworn it said ICH8 before I installed the JmicronATA.kext so that I could use my IDE DVD burner. Maybe I was seeing things. Any thoughts?
13. Work x1950gt pro ! Dev_ID = 0x72801002 and 0x72881002 !

Oh my gawd....glad i came across your post. Your solution worked awesomly. Dashboard ripples 4 the win! I love you. 10.6.4, Asus x1950pro. Screen resolution is correct also.
14. I'm having pretty bad luck with installing SL. I was hoping somebody can post steps on how to install SL on this board, preferably via USB. I have the retail version of snow leopard on a usb drive which I made within OSx 10.4.9. While we are on the subject, what are DSDTs?
15. Asus P5B Deluxe Install 10.6.3

Is the only way to install 10.6.x on a P5B to do it within a prior install of OSX? Can 10.6.x be installed cleanly? It would be nice to have a solution like puting in a ##### cd and putting in a retail copy of OSX and the way you go. Is ##### compatible with P5B deluxe?
