umyeah
I have a 10.6.6 hackintosh setup on a dell m1330 xps with intel graphics that I did using this guide http://macyourpc.com/2011/01/install-mac-o...-inspiron-1525/ In short that guide has the only prebooter that seems to work on my laptop, but like most of the others panics if not in safe mode (many of the others leave me stuck at a blank screen I can never get out of). I'm trying to see the full output of the kernel panic so I can fix it. On my laptop the top portion scrolls off the screen and I guess you can't scroll back, I think I may be missing info I need. It looks like according to apple there should be a log of kernel panics "After restarting the system, a log file named with the date and time of the panic should be present in /Library/Logs/PanicReporter. (Prior to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, this log is /Library/Logs/panic.log.) " http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#te...002/tn2063.html But I can't find any of the log files it mentions :/ From what I can see at the bottom it looks like it's a problem with VoodooBattery 1.3.2, though I've removed that and also removed VoodooPower (and deleted cache manually and start with -f). So I don't know what, or if something trying to load VoodooBattery.. unless it's in the bootloader? VoodooBattery doesn't get loaded in safe mode, and I think that's what it is but not sure. thanks for any help Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/246006-kernel-panic-log-file/ Share on other sites

umyeah
thank you both for the replies, that was helpful didn't know about either. Alas it looks like an actual KP won't get logged in a hackintosh like it would in a real mac :/ Only the last successful boot seems to show up in the logs mentioned above. Anyway I was able to figure out my problem all the same, using a dsdt.asl extracted from the snowboot iso's preboot.img got the video working and indirectly let me work around the other problem. thanks for your time Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/246006-kernel-panic-log-file/#findComment-1634569 Share on other sites
