Hi after finally getting osx86 10.4.6 installed correctly today and running on wmware, I tried to boot natively off the hard drive I installed it to. Everything was normal until before osx loaded and I got this:

Thats what it displays and it hangs there. Can anyone help me please, I had to type all that out!

wait, did you install it vmware and try to boot off that same vmware image without the use of vmware? You can't boot off a vmware image unless you are in windows running vmware. You would have to create new(real) partition with a new install of osX to boot without the use of vmware.

There is a way, using VMware to install to a partition instead of a vmware image. Then you can boot to that partition without VMware. This is a solution for people who have computers that refuse to boot the install DVD.

I tried many many times to install natively on my blank 80GB IDE hard disk. I formatted it fine and while installing, near the end I keep getting 'Please try installing again and the install halts'. Finally I tried to install using Vmware and booting the install CD and it worked fine. I made the partition active and it booted fine in WMware. However when I selected the drive at startup, it wouldn't boot natively.

when i installed on a new hard drive i completely wiped that hard drive of all partitions. Inserted the Install disc and started up, when it asked for what drive i used the disk utility to create an HFS partition...then of course i selected customize and added my patches...
