Patrix
Have you installed the patch(es)? Perhaps you can check on the civfanatics.com forums (they have a civ4 mac forum where you could get more help) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24586-civilization-4-mbp-problem/#findComment-180941 Share on other sites
borisbadenov
I have this game, version 1.61 on my OSX86, updated to 10.4.8 but the game still seems a bit sluggish when compared to the same game on XP/ It is not terrible to deal with, just a little annoying. FOr example, betwen turns, normally the little arrow in a dial spins in XP but not in OSX. I am using a MSCI X1600 Pro PCI-e 256mb card, same mobo, etc. Any reasons? The game is supposed to be for Intel, thus avoiding Rosetta. jackt283
I too am reporting extremely bad performance from the mac port of this game. It is universal (so they say) though it is by no way smooth or well-working compared to the XP version. In XP - Everything At high 1600x1200 = really really really smooth play in Mac OS - Everything at high at 1280x1024 = pretty jerkey. Playable, but ugly. Even the movies at the beginning can't play smooth. I'm on an x1600 with pentium D on OS 10.4.8. Is it a hackintosh problem? Or just (yet) another bad port from Aspyr. I'm going with the later. Those guys just make bad ports and that's it. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24586-civilization-4-mbp-problem/#findComment-421291 Share on other sites
