JCKun Posted January 27, 2011 Share Posted January 27, 2011 I am able to install iAtkos s3 v2 with no problems, but if i try to update to 10.6.6 the usb ports seem to be dead, i tried installing [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url], but after install and restarting i will get the error "hold on the power... in 5 languages. it seems that the only problem that i have is that the usb ports wont work after the update. i hope someone can help me with that. thanks on advance. marc0hdz Posted January 29, 2011 Share Posted January 29, 2011 have you tried the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] IOUSBFamily rollback? it worked for me. i have attached the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] i used here are the steps i used. starting with 10.6.5 -Download the 10.6.6 update from Apple's website (not the combo) -Backup IOUSBFamily.kext from /System/Library/Extensions to Your desktop. -Install 10.6.6 update it but don't restart yet. -Drag and Drop IOUSBFamily.kext backed up earlier to Kext Utility app, put in your password and let it do it's thing. -Now quit and restart (Note that this are the steps i used. I cannot even update to 10.6.5 it is the same problem, the upgrade completes, but the keyboard, mouse wont work or any usb/ps2 port. dothacker Posted February 2, 2011 Share Posted February 2, 2011 update to 10.6.4... before updating to 10.6.5, go to S/L/E and copy IOUSBfamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext to your desktop. install 10.6.5 update but DO NOT RESTART. Re-install the 2 kext in your desktop back to S/L/E. repair permissions then restart. If you're doing 10.6.6, do the same thing. oh by the way, this has been covered so if you searched, you would've found out about it. I have the same motherboard that you have in your desktop Evga 750i FTW SLI i am not able to install macox because it wont go beyond of "still waiting for device..." i will appreciate if you can tell me what bios setting you have, maybe i need to update my bios because i dont have the option to change to sata AHCI. thanks. Tomica Posted February 3, 2011 Share Posted February 3, 2011 Try flashing your BIOS, then in BIOS options try and disable USB (whatever you have, if you have USB Legacy something, disable it), worked for me!
