ditchmagnet
I am wondering if it is related to my GPU. I recently upgraded to a GTX460 768MB, and it was working just fine for a while. I had used tonymacx86 nvida drivers. Now, when I start the computer, it will load the desktop (sometimes just the blue screen till I unplug the monitor and plug into another port the desktop shows) but nothing responds. I can move the mouse though. If I wait for about 5 minutes, then everything works fine untill I restart, then it happens again. What should I do? ditchmagnet
Exact same problem here. After trying some things, I decided to just reinstall since I don't have alot setup on it yet anyways. Though now I cannot get a successful install. I may have to put my old card back it for it to install (a 9500gt) Still would like to know why it was doing that though. EDIT: I was able to re-install using this GPU, just had to drop down to 4GB to get the desktop to load. I will update this thread when I have everything finished to confirm if this fixed the problem. ditchmagnet
Ok, I have everything re-installed and it is working perfect again. If it starts messing up again, I will post here again.
danerd100
When I reinstall it works fine but then after a few boots with changes that shouldn't affect it, it starts again
