alec801 Posted January 27, 2011 Share Posted January 27, 2011 hey guys.. im running 10.6.6 and ive got the airport symbol on the menu bar but it wont turn on whenever i turn it on through network settings it just stays off, wont do anything. if i turn it on through the menu bar, the icon turns grey and gets an X over it. in network settings it is recognised as apple hardware, i think maybe it has something to do with the hard switch on my laptop... when running windows i could flick this switch and the wireless would turn on and off... no such luck in osx ive got an acer aspire 5570z... im pretty sure the wireless card is an atheros 5006eg (if someone knows how to check id appreciate it) Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/245339-airport-wont-turn-on/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm a similar problem: I have disactivated airport, and now I don't succeed more in activating it.
