Hi,

I need help installing OSX on my Asus N61JQ laptop. I have tried the following ISOs:

1. OSX 10.5.7 - iDeneb Ver 1.5.1

2. Mac OSX Kalyway

3. OSX 10.5.5 - iDeneb Ver. 1.3

4. PsyStar EFI (tried this with the aforementioned ISOs)

Unfortunately none of them seem to work, “OSX 10.5.5 - iDeneb Ver. 1.3” was able to install successfully but once its unable to boot into OSX. It shows the small apple logo and a loading icon on the gray background, but freezes after like 15 sec. Can someone help me install OSX, thanks.

I have the same computer,

i7 1.6, ati radeon mobility hd 5730 1gb gddr3, various other components.

I've been able to get it installed using an efi bootloader and a retail snow leopard disk, but it remains quite disfunctional (no wifi, no ethernet, no video acceleration, sound drivers conflict).

The disk used was a 10.6.3 retail disk, and trying to run any updates, whether it be a simple 10.6.4 update or the entire combo update available, it pretty much kills the installation.

I've tried many different kexts and utilities to try and get it to be fully functional, but nothing helps.

Also, when booting for the first time after an install, it helps to clear the cache and boot from scratch (at least, that's what I understand it as doing) by using the boot flag -f. It also helps to boot into verbose mode with the flag -v, as well as telling it you have 4 cpus, and then setting the bus ratio.

So your boot flag at startup may look something like this:

-v -f cpus=4 busratio=20
