themadgreek
Hi everyone, Thanks to this site, I managed to successfully install SL on my Vostro 1310 laptop, and 10.6.4. Everything was fine until I ran the update to go 10.6.6. using Software update (mainly to get Angry birds... shame on me, I know lol). Note: I didn't ran 10.6.5 when it was out. It installed okay but since then, I notice a huge drop in performances. The computer runs every graphic part slower. Dock animations (downloads piles per example), exposé, flash on internet... And globally the whole system feels slower than before. The video card is a Nvidia 8400M GS. I don't know what to do, except reinstalling the whole system from scratch but it would be a big pain in the ass. Reason why I'm reaching up to you guys for a little bit of help regarding this issue. I don't think I need to post my whole laptop config details this time. Please tell me if it is needed ;-) Thanks a lot in advance. RamosDevil
It installed okay but since then, I notice a huge drop in performances. The computer runs every graphic part slower. Dock animations (downloads piles per example), exposé, flash on internet... I didn't experience all of those ill effects when I upgraded to 10.6.6 (HP Pavilion dv4-1020us), HOWEVER I did notice a significant decrease in Flash performance. I was able to remedy the situation by uninstalling the new version of Flash that 10.6.6 installs and reinstalling a previous version. I've uploaded a .zip file with the uninstaller .dmg and a reinstaller .dmg. You can find that here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/7o9ovvtdv7d4...h_reinstall.zip In regards to your other performance issues, you may want to reinstall your display kexts. 10.6.6 messed with my display settings and I was forced to reinstall to get them working properly.
