3. [HELP] Sucessful hackintosh won't boot anymore

4. [HELP] Sucessful hackintosh won't boot anymore

So, I booted on SL dvd before you wrote your answer to try to repair the permissions. I ran the "check disk" utility and apparently my system volume is corrupted and it couldnt be repaired by thz utility. I guess I'm good for a reinstallation, right?
5. [HELP] Sucessful hackintosh won't boot anymore

It doesn't boot in safe mode either :-(
6. Hey guys, My hackintosh refuse to boot since this morning while nothing unusual happened. No new app installation, no new kexts, nothing but my everyday computer use. After chameleon and Apple's startup wheel, it goes to a blue screen for a long time and then the default SL wallpaper shows up instead of my desktop; and judging by the size of the pointer, the screen resolution is pretty low. My computer is a Dell Vostro 1310, I used Empire EFI + SL retail dvd for install and a mix of #####, specific kexts and a custom dsdt to make everything work. I really have no clue at all about what happened that caused this since I didnt do anything special yesterday, I just turned it off and when to bed like everyday... Thank you so much for your help, specially knowing that all my college work is on that computer and I have my semester exams next week... Thanks! :-)
7. Hi everyone, I just got a new laptop and I wanted to switch it to SL after my first success with a Dell Notebook. So, I fired up my Empire EFI cd and Snow Leopard dvd immediately! The whole thing booted and installed ok but when I ran 10.6.4 update and ##### it completely crashed with a nice kernel panic. Now, the whole installation is not bootable and I'm going to start all over again. The thing is I've been looking around for information on how to set up the proper drivers/kexts/bootloaders/etc... and I've found quite a few things that were very useful but still, I was wondering if you guys could have a look at my configuration and tell me if there's gonna be anything specific/funky to have it running under Mac OSX. Particularly in order to enable proper graphics/audio/(W)LAN. 8. Dell Vostro 1310: 200+ errors ?

Waow MaLd0n, you're my hero! Seriously, thanks a lot. I reinstalled SL yesterday with the patched DSDT and I can sense the difference, and as a bonus, apple's power management is now supported! Again, thank you very much.
9. Dell Vostro 1310: 200+ errors ?

Come on guys, anyone ?
10. Dell Vostro 1310: 200+ errors ?

Disclaimer: not-very-advanced DSDT user... Hey guys, I'm trying to patch my DSDT and I've read a hell lot of tutorials, articles, everyting... but I have to admit I'm quite lost! I have successfully extracted my DSDT and I'm having more than 200 errors in it (!) and I sincerely have no clue on how to fix them since most tutorials and ready-made patches are for well-known desktop mobos and I'm running a Dell Vostro 1310 laptop, which is not the most popular laptop to get help around it ! If a charitable soul could help me out on this one I'd be very grateful :-) -TmG PS: My bad for the English, I'm a french Greek ^ hackintosh_hardware_analysis.zip
11. Hi everyone, Thanks to this site, I managed to successfully install SL on my Vostro 1310 laptop, and 10.6.4. Everything was fine until I ran the update to go 10.6.6. using Software update (mainly to get Angry birds... shame on me, I know lol). Note: I didn't ran 10.6.5 when it was out. It installed okay but since then, I notice a huge drop in performances. The computer runs every graphic part slower. Dock animations (downloads piles per example), exposé, flash on internet... And globally the whole system feels slower than before. The video card is a Nvidia 8400M GS. I don't know what to do, except reinstalling the whole system from scratch but it would be a big pain in the ass. Reason why I'm reaching up to you guys for a little bit of help regarding this issue. I don't think I need to post my whole laptop config details this time. Please tell me if it is needed ;-) Thanks a lot in advance.
12. Dell Vostro 1310 Snow Install Guide

Hey dude, I happen to have a 1310 myself (with an nvidia 8400gs card). All went fine with a legit DVD install and 10.6.4 but when I updated to 10.6.6 (skipping .5) I lost a lot of graphics performance. Per example, the Applications/Downloads piles animations in the dock are slower than before, or flash games, or even exposé... Any idea ?
13. A Dell mhackbook ?

Here is what I checked at the install in #####: - Easy Beast - System utilities - Rebuild caches - Repair permissions - Advanced options - Kexts - Audio: VoodooHDA Official 0.2.2 - Graphics: NV Enabler - Network: Realtek RTL8169 Ethernet - Non DSDT systems - fakesmc - EvOreboot - NullCPUPowerManagement (not sure if I installed that one) - Miscelleanous - IOUSBFamily 10.6.2 rollback - Voodoo PS/2 controller with Trackpad - com.apple.boot.plist: 32 bit apple boot screen - smbios plist: Macbook pro (not sure if I installed that one) - Themes: Standard Chameleon - OSX86 software: all 4 softwares Is that of any help ? Edit: I tried to make it an arborescent list but it doesn't show up in the post... sorry. (But it does show in the "edit your post" window)
14. A Dell mhackbook ?

Great info, thanks! The only thing is that I was in a hurry and couldn't wait for your advices ...and I f*ck it up. So I installed a few things using Mulitbeast (some of which you say above) and when I reboot the baby, I got a blackscreen on startup. Chameleon loads OSX just fine, I see the apple logo then blackscreen and I can't do anything. I managed to access the system using -x to boot on safe mode. I guess there's something wrong in the kexts I've used, so my big questions is how do I remove them all and start the process all over again, using your advices ?
15. A Dell mhackbook ?

Alright, so... using EFI Empire I managed to install Snow Leopard just fine :-) Now I completely lost with those kexts stories... Could one of you explain to me how to choose and install kexts/drivers or refer to a good tutorial please ? That would be really kind :-) P.S. > I have installed the 10.6.4 update without rebooting, and I'm waiting for your answers before choosing the options using #####.
