Norwin
Hi all, I'm trying to install a fresh bought Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on my 1201n. I followed: https://sites.google.com/site/asusguide The bootloader start ... but the installation stops immediately with a kernel panic "version mis-match between kernel and cpu" It seems that I can pass thourgh this issue using pmVersion=0 in the boot command line But then, the system stops with a gray screen with: Setting Legacy USB Off[...] Legacy USB Off Done Setting Legacy USB Off[...] Legacy USB Off Done I'm googling since hours for a solution, but nothing. Note that I replaced the HD (with a SSD) and also replaced the wifi card (with a DELL 1510 Wireless WiFi N 802.11n). If someone got any idea Regards, Norwin PS. I also tried using the DVD install given with a mac book: the installation start but the OS refused to install ("this OS X version cannot be installed on this machine" (or something like this). sparkythewondersquid
This is not to different from the 1201PN if I'm not mistaken I used nawcom's disk and retail 10.6 disk from best buy after the install I installed myhack (unselect sleepenabler and do select applePS2 in customize), replaced the kernel, edited the com.apple.boot.plist to boot from the mach_kernel_atom, deleted the appleRTC kext from extra/extensions installed Chameleon RC5 unofficial trunk 699 and it worked great I had to tweak a little I used dsdt GUI voodoobattery, Pm me I have some kexts that might help you Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/244504-help-for-os-x-1063-install-on-asus-eee-pc-1201n/#findComment-1627331 Share on other sites
