ditchmagnet
I am unable to run in 64bit mode. I have tried using arch=x86_64 but it will not boot all the way (gets stuck on the blue screen right before it loads the desktop). I am running a retail install 10.6.6, and using chameleon for booting. Have 6GB of RAM, and I thought that there was a way to run individual programs in 64bit mode. I wanted to run geekbench in 64bit mode, but when I go to get info on the 64bit version, I don't see an option to run in 64bit mode anyways. So how does it work on OSX? And is there anything I can do to run in 64bit mode? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/243926-64bit/ Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
OS X is not like Windows, if your CPU has the EM64T instruction set, you can run 64-bit apps and address up to 32GB RAM in 32-bit mode. You can start 64-bit Geekbench, right? So you're fine.
