I am unable to post this question in the correct area until I have enough posts. Anyways the problem that I am encountering is after I installed iatkos s3 v2. Then upgraded to 10.6.6. I think a generic graphics enabler is running inhibiting any of my edited kexts from working for my graphics card. I have tried everything in this post " http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=196083 " to no avail so I believe I am missing some step(s) somewhere along the way. My first guess would be to see what kexts are loading and I have not quite read anywhere yet as to how to see which ones are loading. Thank you in advance for any help.

1- Type kextstat in the terminal

2 - Look in system profiler - extensions

Thank you for the reply. As suspected I do not see any ATI Radeon kexts installed. Now I need to figure out how to change the booting so that it uses the correct kext.

Here is how my day went for reading. I managed to change my boot list so that the card is forced into a higher resolution than the 1024 x 768. I edited the kexts that are needed for my video card which is the x1400. I entered my EDID info and used kext helper to put them in their place and re checked permissions. Rebooted and I still have the same problem. The weird thing is that when I look at my hardware it shows my video card as a HD 4890.

ATI Radeon HD 4890:

I sure hope someone can point me down the right path. Should I try reinstalling using a retail disc? Or can this one be saved? (iATKOS 10.6.3 S3 V2) I would really like to get the ATI Radeon Mobility x1400 Working with full resolution and QE/CI Enabled.

Thanks,

Dan
