I found on the net many informations about Intel PRO/Wireless 2200, but i want to know the differece between mercurysquad's kext and iwi2200's one.

mercury's:

  • Supports 802.11b and 802.11g networks
  • Supports open (no password) networks
  • Supports WEP encrypted networks
  • Does not support WPA
  • Uses nativly air port connection gui

iwi's:

  • Supports 802.11b and 802.11g networks
  • Supports open (no password) networks
  • Does not support WEP encrypted networks
  • Does not support WPA
  • Uses NetworkSelectorGui

So the best solution is Mercurysquad's one? Does this kext works on leo 10.5.8? And last release (Beta 05) connects to WEP encrypted networks without bugs? (because i've read that connected to a WEP encrypted network it could disconnect randomly, cused by a firmware error).

Iwi's one can connect only to open networks?

Thank's.

Well, i've tried booth kexts, and mercurysquad's one doesn't support WEP encrypted networks ;) , and finally i've try iwi2200.

Booth work quite fine, but the fact that they can't support at least a WEP encrypted networks is a big problem for me.

If someone could suggest me someway to have WEP decryption on mercurysquad's one please tell me, becouse on my notebook i can't connect to internet if there is a WEP passkey to type!
