Hey, I tried to install OSX from the JaS 10.4.6 image on a fresh hard drive, no dual booting here, here are my specs:

Dell Dimension 4600

2.8 GHz P4

512 MB ram

GeForce FX 5200

E210882 Motherboard (default Dell one, its Intel not VIA)

The installation part went fine. I got a b0 error, but managed to resolve it. What happens is when it boots, it gets to a white screen with a grey apple and a series of circling lines towards the bottom of the screen. You know the one. Anyway, it seems fine for a few moments, but then a small "no smoking" circle with a slash through it appears over the apple. The lines continue to rotate, but it never gets past that screen. Help please?

I already pulled out all non-necessary PCI cards. If anybody wants more information or a picture, just ask. Thanks for anything!

During the installation, right before clicking the "Install" button, did you first click on the "Customize" button to select packages that pertain to your computer? You had to click on the little arrow in front of the various selections to reveal the packages to be selected.

I did miss the customize button, I'll try that tomorrow, as its gettin kinda late on the east coast. Thanks for the tip. A for the chipset, I'm not sure if these are the numbers you are looking for, but these are the ones I found etched on the chip on the motherboard:

FW82801EB

F352NC23

SL732

Thanks again Rammjet and JaS
