Hey peeps,

I've read a fair bit to try solve this but still no luck

I have 10.6.2 installed, running great, But ever reboot/shutdown causes the BIOS to reset... very annoying

I have tried editing the DSDT, both changing the RTC length to 2 and have also tried completely removing the IRQ call, neither works. I have tried putting the recompiled dsdt.aml in both / and /Extra

Am I missing something? do I specifically need to tell chameleon to look for it. how can I tell if its being found?

Does anyone know another work around for this, cause every reboot I have to go into the bios, set USB keyboard support, save and exit, then hit escape to select my boot drive. very annoying.

If the DSDT is correctly patched, the BIOS doesn't reset.

Thanks man, that helps...

sarcasm aside, I am sure it is correctly patched, perhaps you can outline a way to achieve this other then the 10 threads and howtos I've tried.

can anyone offer any more assistance?

I have since tried a kext bios reset workaround which failed also

Default location for DSDT.aml is /Extra. Anywhere else and you must set the path to it in /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist.

If you extract your DSDT on OS X and get your patched DSDT, that means it's loaded.

Zip your DSDT and attach it here.

First of all, thanks for inadvertently pointing me in the right direction to my own problem. I just bought a new board (GA-G41MT-D3) and went straight to installing 10.6.2. My BIOS kept giving me Checksum errors on every reboot. I thought the board was broken, but when seeing you had a similar issue, I did some DSDT research, and came across this link:

I had no IRQ issues (not sure if that's because I'm using SnowOSX), but I did need to fix this part under Device (RTC):

0x04, // Length

I had to change 0x04 to 0x02, run the utility mentioned in the link, then copy it to /Extras. Just like that, the Checksum error is gone! Hope my recent experience helps you get it working, cause it is rather maddening! Now if only I can get suspend working....
