madvillain Posted January 8, 2011 Share Posted January 8, 2011 hi i'm hoping somebody here can help me. for the life of me i can not get sound working under 10.6.x with the GA-EP45-DS3 motherboard I have tried the kexts located all over this site, and the GA-EP45-DS3 DSDT from kexts.com with absolutely no success. can someone with this motherboard post the kexts needed to get sound working in say 10.6.6 on a vanilla install? a bit more info. no matter what kexts I load I never see any output devices under System Preferences -> Sound -> Output, or any input devices obviously i'm doing something wrong, i just can't work out what Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/242132-ga-ep45-ds3-alc889a-sound/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
delite Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Try the method i used for the sound on 10.5.x install described in my sig. I remember it was a pain in the .. tried several methods before i got it to work. EP45-DS3 really seems scarce around here not many people use it. Also, how did you install your 10.6.? Kakewalk does not list the support for this mobo so what method did you use?
