vasir15
Upgraded to 10.6.5 to 10.6.6 and my Matrox tripplehead2go died. System Specs: DX58So i975 480GTX Reinstalled all kext .... no use Tried to reinstall the Nvidia drivers 256.01.00f03 but it would not let me install => "this can not be used on this system" => must be a new thing in 10.6.6 Workaround: 1) open up the driver window 2) on driver right click -> "Show package content" => Content => Packages => and individually install all 3 drivers Reboot and you should see all monitors again Did not check any performance benchmarks but looks like the nvidia drivers are overwritten by the update. Cheers, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/241992-matrox-tripplehead2go-and-1066/ Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
looks like the nvidia drivers are overwritten by the update. Not here: I thought the triplehead2go was all hardware? Are there drivers for it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/241992-matrox-tripplehead2go-and-1066/#findComment-1616761 Share on other sites
vasir15
I also downloaded matrox drivers, and yes the driver was f04 at start. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/241992-matrox-tripplehead2go-and-1066/#findComment-1616766 Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
I think it might have something to do with the way you installed the nvidia drivers. Maybe the 10.6.6 updater could not identify the drivers because you installed the three packages separately instead of using the installer - there would be no installer receipt present. Instead of installing the three packages individually, copy the installer to your desktop and open the file distribution.dist (or something like that) inside the installer with a text editor and change the required Mac model to the model identifier you're using. Save it and then you can run the installer and install the drivers the right way. vasir15
Indeed, the driver needed to be reinstalled, stock 10.6.6 did break it. Thanks for the hint. dogboyP7120
Sorry to hijack your thread... I wondered if anyone new of a way to hack versions of Snow Leopard past 10.6.1 which reduced the voltage on the mini displayport breaking triplehead2go on macbook/macbook pro at higher resolutions... DOes anyone know if it's possible to revert to the voltage used in 10.6.1 without reinstalling snow leopard? Again, apologies for the thread hijack! All the best, Nick Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/241992-matrox-tripplehead2go-and-1066/#findComment-1672202 Share on other sites
