HOTcakes
I recently installed 10.6.3 with iaktos. I was using 10.5.8 but decided to upgrade. The installation went well but now mac only boots up if I have the iaktos dvd in. If I dont have it in and try to boot from the bootloader on the hard disk, I get a kernel panic. I dont mind this but my usb devices aren't working. I think I need to patch my dsdt but that wouldn't help unless I was using the bootloader on the hard drive. Any advice on how to get my USB working? btw im running an AMD CPU. WhatTheFiber
How much ram do you have? I had a similar problem. Try starting it with these commands. cpus=1 arch=i386 maxmem=4096. You have to add maxmem if you have over 4Gb of ram. I'm still searching for a fix. And as for the USB devices, what chipset is your mobo? HOTcakes
I only have 3 gigs of ram so I don't think that's the problem and I have the nvidia MCP61 chipset. Any advice on how to get my USB working? btw im running an AMD CPU. Hey, hotcakes, i have something similar as you are. i´m having troubles with my SL 10.6.3 booting. I want to dual boot winxp and SL. Got both insalled and used iatkos s3v2 with anval bootloader to get graphics enabler for the x3100. but when i booted with the dvd that uses the chameleon RC4 r684, everything boots up fine, and booting from the hdd without the iatkos dvd, it uses the chameleon rc5 pre11anval bootloader, which doesnt boot several kexts(applehda, x3100 kext, firwire kext and some others), i imagine that its the bootloader that has to change right? So I downloaded the rc4 r684 and well from what i had read in the posts i just had to install the package. Now i can use the rc4 bootloader but SL seems to find all kexts but cant load them for some reason, look at pictures attached.. i can still boot with the iatkos dvd, so i tried to install Chameleon_2.0_RC5_INSTALLER_r643.zip that version of chameleon and i get the same errors, link erros, cannot alloc kexts, etc. although i can still boot with the iatkos dvd and still some kexts arent loaded anymore, so what now? The question i assume is how to get to work the bootloader that works when i use the iatkos dvd, from the hard drive? I appreciate any help from you or anyone in the forum. Carlos Paixao
When you'd upgraded, which iAtkos distro did you'd used? On iAtkos s3 v2 you may choose the right bootloader at the installation as fine as the other install options. Are you on Aserebl? For the KP, boot -v, take a pic and post so we can help you better.
