Pongatron
Ok i have the same laptop and i am trying to get a triple boot going. What are you using to try and boot into OSx? I have 10.6.3 retail disk and i am trying to boot using netbook CD, but im looking into using ##### or something. Problem is whenever i actually try and boot into OSx, The computer shuts off and restarts. I think the problem is either the CPU or the GPU, i cant find any support for the radeon 5470. Have you found anything yet? Um, and as for the image, i am fairly sure there is some software that you can use with BartPE that can image hard disk drives like that. I got the same exact config as Square, except I pulled the 640gb drive out, and swapped in a 60GB SSD drive to try and speed up the OSX install. I've also just got integrated video. I used the setup here: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...ac-os-x-on.html I used the older version of ##### (2.1, nvidia supported) as the newer one that's available for download (2.6) doesn't seem to get me anywhere. I'm able to get into and use OSX 10.6.3, but only using ##### for now. Trying to boot from the regular drive nets me the same problem as you, Pong22 The keyboard, usb, trackpad all work. Ethernet doesn't. Video looks fine, and haven't tried sound. I actually bought a Mac compatible USB Wireless N adapter to see if that will work, but hadn't tried that yet. The problem starts for me when I get into the part to open ##### & install the OSX 10.6.6 upgrade - as it's finalizing the install of the upgrade, I get the greyed out message "Your computer needs to be restarted..." with no option to restart later (so it looks more like an error message rather than a successful upgrade message), and then from there, when I try to reboot (using #####), it's hit or miss as to if I can actually get into OSX. I tried skipping the upgrade and just installing the ##### components, and still the same results - can't boot directly from hard drive, only into ##### then the hard drive. I'm going to try to do a clean reinstall again tomorrow when I've got more time and try using the just released ##### 3.1 (I used 3.0 before). I'll keep you posted, but hopefully that bit can get you guys started and hopefully we can keep adding to this thread with our progress. cokeburglar
Update, got sound working. Ethernet does not. Bought a wireless usb device based upon a Realtek chipset and it installed fine. Video is stuck at 1024x768. I installed Chamelon Bootloader (forget which version) so I can now boot directly. Unfortunately, can't get the combo upgrade to go through for 10.6.6, and it looks like graphics support will be severly limited for my machine, until Apple starts making machines that use the integrated GPU on the i5 chips. You however may have better luck, since there seems to be plenty of ATI support available out there now. So, stuck at 10.6.3, 1024x768 video, & need to use wireless is the best I'm doing. However, did get my Dell XPS 435T / 9000 up & running like a beast, if anyone is interested in that. Stumbled upon the right combo of boot discs and it runs perfect, down to my USB 3.0 card & flash card reader and it's recognized as a Mac Pro and Xbenches super high, I only found 1 machine with ratings comparable to mine which was a Mac Pro with dual processors. Count me in with you folks. I got the same exact config as Square, except I pulled the 640gb drive out, and swapped in a 60GB SSD drive to try and speed up the OSX install.
