WhatTheFiber
Hello, I finally managed to get Snow leopard installed on my Foxconn destroyer. All the hardware is working, except for some reason it's only reading 1Gb of ram. I have 8 Gb of ram installed so this is very annoying. I'm using the Chocolate kernal with an AMD phenom 9650 if it helps.
Gringo Vermelho
Are you by any chance using EmpireEFI1085_AMD...? Then you have the same issue as this guy: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=239793 Delete the maxmem=1024 flag in your /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist. The problem is that I had ubuntu installed on the disk previously and grub took over the whole disk. So the empire efi is the only way I can boot into the OS. I attempted to install the post install package on another disk, but it always kernel panics when the system boots. I'll back up the data and wipe the disk clean. Then I'll try it. WhatTheFiber
I managed to get it to read 4Gb of ram. But if I go over 4Gb it shuts down mid boot. Any ideas? Once this is fixed everything will be working 100%.
Gringo Vermelho
I don't know, it's probably an AMD-specific Hackintosh thing. Try to find posts by other AMD users here with more than 4GB RAM. Visit the release thread for the patched kernel you're using and look for information there as well. If you were using 10.5.x I'd point you to this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=127611
