nervegrind3r
specs of my system are in sig. I added a pci sound card (sb live! card) to get sound in 10.6.5. Although I get sound now, when I run win 7 through vmware 3.1, an osx error pops up "cannot connect virtual device sound because no corresponding device is available on the host" any time I try to play a sound. I can ignore this error though. The weird thins is that after I acknowledge the error, the sound plays properly. second variation of problem is that I swapped the sb live! card with an sb audigy2. Sound is 10.6.5 works fine still, no problems. when I try to play any media files in win 7, no error comes up now, but there is no sound at all. When I do any sound tests, it detects the vmware sound output device, and I see the levels in sound manager going up and down during playback, but no sound from speakers. Go back to OSX, and I get sound with no problem. I googled, and a few of the workarounds I tried did not help (because they were not specially for mac os running vmware, mostly other *nix). Anyone else with this problem? thanks so much for any help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/241032-vmware-sound-error-on-1065-running-windows-7/ Share on other sites
