Omiyorulz
As you can see the title I tried updating my hackintosh to 10.6.4 from 10.6.2 But after the update i got error while booting saying that I have to hold the power button and shut down the computer. I updated directly from apple site by clicking the update option in preferences. So i would like to know if there is anyway to update my hackintosh to 10.6.4 The primary reason for the update is to develop apps for iPhone. PS - I used leohazard 10.6.1 - 10.6.2 image to install my hackintosh. Thank you.

LeXa2
And not only the hardware, also it would be wise to post here any modifications you had make to get the 10.6.2 installation in a working state. I mean, Kexts installation, DSDT patches and all other thins of a such kind.

veamon
Did you happen to research about setting your pmVersion=21, removing SleepEnabler.kext during the update, etc etc? Or did you just try and update and reboot?
Omiyorulz
I backed up all my kexts (Only kext files) and then installed the update. After the update, before restarting I restored the kernels. I did all this using osx86 tools!
otacon6530
Kernel panic are never fun... on a real mac it usually means hardware, but in a hackintosh it is usually a kext file causing the panic. Be sure all of your kexts are up-to-date and reading for 10.6.4 Also if there was curruption in a past upgrade/install of 10.6.2 then you probably need to try to install the 10.6.4 Combo update. This will re-install all the updates from 10.6.1-4. I would back up all information before going this route. You can also go in verbose mode on bootup and see if it has a backtrace in the panic. The backtrace will usually tell you the kext that caused it to panic and the last couple of kext that loaded fine.
