Hi!

I pieced together my computer...

X58A-UD3R Rev2

i7-930

Radeon HD 4870

4GB ram during installation

500 GB drive

I'm using Kakewalk 3.0 and cant seem to get very far in the installation process.

I get to the step where you swap the kakewalk disc out for Snow Leopard, and the apple logo will appear with the spinning icon, but after about a minute or two the computer screen just goes black.

I've tried ##### as well, and get the same problem.

The only thing i can think of is that i'm using an upgrade disc for snow leopard, but i've read that it's worked for others.

Any suggestions would be very welcomed!

Try booting with -v -x busratio=21 and report any error messages you see........

I attached photos of the screen just before it goes to a black screen. Hopefully its helps.

What kexts do you have in /Extra/Extensions/.........?

What happens when you boot with -v -x arch=i386 busratio=21.......?

I don't have any kexts, since I have yet to install the OS

I tried that as well and it just reported the same errors as before.

I tried ##### a shot as well as Empire the other day, but had the same problems.

Though I did make it to the install screen today with kakewalk when i used...

arch=i386 cpus=1 maxmem=2048

But my keyboard & mouse stopped responding when i get to the language selection part.

I'll give ##### another try in the morning.
