Had my laptop about 1 hour out of the box before I had tiger on it

Heres my spec:

Intel 1.6M

768mb

40gb 5400

ATI X300 64MB

Out of box, audio, mouse, graphics (1024x768) are working, DVD defo isnt and if I run International in sys pref it just kills the appy

Networking wasnt working properly (despite it saying it was), but I did SSE2 patch and Anti-TPM patch (from Maxxuss)

Video playback works of mpegs, and so does mp3's. Not tried a lot more. No wireless lan (as expected)

The whole system is a little flakey, quicktime crashes occasionally and so do other apps.

Any other patches recommended ?!!?

Hi there..

Has any of you with this laptop config tried 10.4.3?

I am particularly thinking of you who have ATI x300. I just need to know how CI/QE works.. if it works?

can you get widescreen resolutions (1280x800 or 1680x1050)?

I am re-installing OSX tonight with the patched 10.4.3 DVD.

my specs:

Dell Inspiron 6000

============

80gb sata 5400rpm

WSXGA (max 1680x1050)

intel 915mobo with ati x300 128mb

1 GB RAM

============

will let you know my findings.. cheers.

Got the 10.4.3 running on Inspiron 6000 after a long night battle. I haven't try the ATI driver yet, but changing resolution shouldn't be a problem even without the driver. (running at 1600x1200 now)

Some of the programs used to work in 10.4.1 is not working now (ex. fCPHD, DVD studio) I am still trying to figure out.

The AC97audio.kext has to be plant-in in order to get the sound work (did not have to in the 10.4.1)

USB mouse is not working (used to work in 10.4.1)

let me know if you got good news.

here's my spec

60gb sata 7200rpm

WUXGA (max 1920x1200)

intel 915mobo with ati x300 128mb
