Hi i have installed mac osx86 under vmware then i followed the guide for another uli controller(not mine) but i just put my ven e dev id 0x528710B9 in the via sata controller section of info.plist, under IOPCIPrimarymatch in appleviaata.kext , and then in the APPLEahciport.kext info .plist file under the intel ich7 section ... and no way to boot ... it just load the kext(legacy configuration) then it shows "still waiting for root device" so it means that cannot find any boot device........

please help me thanks

Try removing it from the AppleAHCIPort.kext and setting emulated PATA mode in the BIOS.

I CANNOT SET IT IN BIOSS :D(( I'VE NOTICED THAT WHEN I TRY TO LOAD APPLEVIAATA.KEXT IT SAYS (NOT IN BUNDLE) LIKE THE PERMISSIONS AREN'T REPAIRED,LIKE IT'S INVALID HOW TO SOLVE?? ANY1 CAN POST A 10.4.4 APPLEVIAATA.KEXT? OR TELL ME HOW TO REPAIR IT? I HAVE ALREADY TRIED WITH DISK UTILITY

I hate to dig up a Necro thread, but I have a MSI RD480 Neo2 with the Uli M1573 controller and can confirm I have SATA working with OS 10.5.5 ideneb v1.3 release.

I did the initial install on an IDE drive, edited appleviaata.kext and added id 0x528710B9 to the info.plist. After placing the file back in the extensions folder, my sata drive appeared without even having to reboot! The partition was then copied to a secondary AF partition on my sata drive. (Using Carbon Cloner under OSX)

This setup didn't seem to like using Chain0 to boot; I'm all ears if anyone has any suggestions for that. Currently booting with WinGRUB.
