M&Mes
Hi guys! I know there are so many topics opened already, but I decided to open a new one to explain a my personal problem. and I can't find any infos about it. So, I successfully installed A Snow Leopard 10.6.3 retal dvd with #####+#####, and updated it to 10.6.5. My hardware is the follow: MB Asus P7P55-M Intel i7 860 ATI HD Radeon 57570 For now every thing is working, but i've got some issues (sometime a have a panic during reboot/restart, audio during games is not always perfect, sleep/hybernate doesn't workm, cant boot in 64 bit mode...), so I continue reading and reading here in Insanely Mac and also in Tonymac's, finding out that the miracolous solution would be a patched dsdt. That sounds great, but I'm really really afraid.... why, you'll say! Simple, during my first days with osx86, i was trying almost every guide for unlock my graphic card's qe/ci, I thought that the problem was that I cannot use graphicsenabler=y on boot with my motherboard (black screen and full speed fan); then, I looked for a method to unlock graphicseanbler and I found this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t207635.html The problem was that I didn't know nothing about dsdts nither about following correctly that guide, so I add some strings -totally randomly- to my dsdt. And nothing happened. Later, with the same installation-not-working-qe-ci-dsdt-casual-patched (:-P), I had a bad crash... my computer doesn't turn on any more, and I had to bring it to a technican to resurrect it (he said something about motherboard and condenser....????? and that it was caused by a wrong installation of SL, asking me not to reinstall it or my computer could seriously be harmed). OK, sorry, I spoke too much, but it was to let you understand all the situation. My question is, could be the wrong-edited dsdt the cause of the Mb issue? I would really try that guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5587 using a my board's cousin dsdt (P7P55D instead of P7P55M) and patch it with tony mac's fixes. Could that re-unlock my computer? Ok, finished :-) Thank you if you spend some time only reading that post, and, like always, have a nice day :-) Marco Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239866-to-dsdt-or-not-dsdt-that-is-the-question/ Share on other sites
