Sword7
Hello folks, Does anyone have any solutions for 8600M GT on G2S laptop? I tried to get it working for many hours but it still displays with default 1024x768 and no GE/CL enabled on OS X 10.6.5 kernel. I tried to install NVenabler but it showed that probe failed during boot time, etc... Thanks! Sword7
try withNVEnabler_64.kext.zip Ok, I tried to install NVEnabler 64.kext but it did not work. It just crashed during boot time. NVEnabler64.kext recognized that 8600M GT with 256MB and set them up then probe just failed. Boot just stopped and no screen was displayed. Its OS X version is 10.6.5. Thanks, Sword7 check this out http://osx86.co/f47/asus-g1s-a1-everything...mi-audio-t6615/ make a dsdt and use the graphics settings from that you can fix cpu=1 issue, pata (cdrom) panic, cmos reset and many other fixes in dsdt. for the cpu power management, use acpidump on linux to dump all the tables. if you have a 2.2ghz cpu then the vanilla dsdt should work fine. However, you should really dump your own SSDT cpu tables to be sure. see this guide for help + scripts http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=359 follow my vanilla dsdt to get the correct format Good luck! ps you can boot in cpus=1 and -s until you have sorted out the dsdt Also for working hdmi in 10.6.5, use the gfx kext package from uphuck on this page and use my guide to add a mbp3,1 graphics rom in /Extra http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...4129&st=340 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239748-help-geforce-8600m-gt-on-asus-g2s-laptop/#findComment-1602745 Share on other sites
Sword7
Hello folks, Thanks for some replies. Also, thank for some notes, hotcorez. I tried to boot Mac OSX system but it happened nothing after just loaded systemlist.plist. I had to re-install everything from scratch. Also my Windows 7 system was messed up but it repaired itself by rolled back to last system update. Good news! I tried 'GraphicsEnabler=Yes PciRoot=Yes' and all problems went gone! It now displays 1920x1200 with CL/QE enabled. Well, fonts are too small to read. How do I make fonts bigger? I put GraphicsEnabler entries into com.apple.Boot.plist but it returned back to 1024x768 without QE/CL enabled. How I do refresh plist file to get them in effective? Thanks again, Sword7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239748-help-geforce-8600m-gt-on-asus-g2s-laptop/#findComment-1603134 Share on other sites
