Hey Everyone,

Great news for the future of OS X 86. Apple just released the Intel compilable kernel sources. This should definatley help with hardware hacking and running OS X 86 in general. Find out all the details and get your own copy here: http://kernel.macosforge.org/

Is it just me or does it not include sources for drivers?

I haven't looked at it closely myself, however, yes, I believe this is soely the XNU Kernel. As far as drivers go, historically, Apple has not open sourced all of their drivers. The ones that are available are generally listed at: http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/

evidentially the kernel will not work after being built and Apple has released a variety of kexts that are required to get it to work. however, I don't see why these kexts can't be adapted for OSX86. once built the kernel will only support a Conroe CPU, and you could try applying the available patches to add AMD support but I suspect the patches will have to be reworked at the very least, let alone any additional protections or hacks to get the shim kexts working. still, hopeful. :)
