I'd like to notice that i've installed Mac on my PC many times

but lately i formatted and repartition my HDD

then i installed Windows 7 on it

then I installed iDeneb 10.5.8

but when i wanted to erase the partition on the journaled mode it didn't erase it

and it gives me an error which says that i cannot erase this partition

i logged in the Windows to check the partition status and i found it (NTFS , Primary)

so anyone have any idea what's wrong with it?

i seriously want answer too, back then on one of my first installation, i tried going into my windows to check something with my osx hdd, it was set to 2 partition, when looked in windows it says i only had 1 partition and the program report this partition as a bad one, the strange thing is after this my hole drive want down

i couldn't get into osx, and in the disk utility it was suddenly bad partition too (BTW it was a clean new HDD)

the strange thing i still was able to get to chameleon but nothing but this, after the boot-loader it tried going in one of the 2 osx i had and got a "still waiting for root device"

my thought is Windows and all the regular partition apps on windows just can't read the hfs+, and it causing him to mess with it or think it's bad or something, so from then on, i only managed my osx partition with a dedicated app for it,

disk utility from the osx disk, but you say you have no luck so sorry for can't help you

have you tried with the osx retail dvd?

you also have option to make 35-pass erase, try it maybe will help

excuse me but what exactly 35-pass erase do?

it's a format security setting, the regular just erases dada,

zero out data, erase your data and write zeros over the disk, and 35-pass will do it 35 times, you don't really have to do it, you can even try zero out data, or in windows do the long (not the quick one) format, i don't know if it will work, but who knows
