Hi! I have install SL 10.6.5 but I have a problem. I can´t shutdown my computer because it gets in a infinitive loops. I can log out, restart etc but not shutdown. I know that perhaps is not something very important but I would like to solve it.

Thanks!

PD. My MB is an ASUS P7P55D-LE.

Thanks a lot MaLd0n!!! I will try and report you the result.

Do you know if DSDT has any relation with my IDE DVD/CD Drive? I have two IDE drive (in the same IDE cable) and my SL don´t recognized them. When I start with ##### I can see them without problem but not when start via Chamaleon ATI EXPERIMENTAL.

Thanks a lot!

:( No luck! I have installed your DSDT file and my system doesn´t restart. After chamaleon it says a quick message and then restart the system over and over again.

Thanks in any case for your help! :D

And what kexts would have to get to put into my OSX? I have problems with IDE Drives in OSX but with ##### I can access to them, could I get some kexts to get my IDE Drives work too?

Thanks a lot for your help and interest in my problem!

Hi! I am here again. I was ill last week so I couldn´t prove your instructions until today. :thumbsup_anim:

I have tried to do the unpack with mkexttool and I don´t know what happen... is a very easy program but I can´t unpack my extensions.mkext. Do you know if I have to do anything before?

I copy my extensions.mkext file into desktop

Run mkexttool

Go to "unpack"

And when I want to select the file, I can´t because it hasn´t appear in the folder where it is.

Perhaps would be a protection problem?

Thanks!

I have tried to do too with terminal (I saw it in a post) but the result is : can´t stat extensiones.mkext

Any Idea?

Another idea to get this working?

I have get a couple of kext and installed but I don´t know if I have chosen a wrong kext that it doesn´t work. :P

Help please!!! :D

You don't have to boot into Windows, enter your BIOS when rebooting and then hold the power button to shut down.

Sorry, no ideas about how to solve the problem though. I'm so glad I have Intel chipset and CPU.

Thanks! I did it too, but I would like to be able to shutdown. I have got it without DSDT but I don´t know if is better the system working with DSDT (with shutdown problem) or without it (with shutdown working).

Thanks!

run on terminal

kextstat | grep -v com.apple

send me

Use the DSDT without patch shutdown if the problem continues

if the shutdown works without the DSDT

you should have a kext to make this service

this could be the problem

This has been the result of apply your instructions:

I continue with my "original" DSDT form DSDT Database. I can´t restart, but I have got my IDE drives working with a kext JmicronAta.

Tanks a lot for your support!

Install Chameleon 2.0 RC5. Make sure to read everything so that you can make informed decisions...

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=231075

Add wait=y to your /extra/com.apple.Boot.plist.

Chameleon will start in verbose mode and wait for a keypress before booting OS X.

Take a photo of the text and attach it.

Ok, I will do it. What does this exactly?

I think that perhaps is important. I am booting in 64 bits mode. I think that this is the reason why my system doesn´t shutdown. Before, in 32 bits my system shutdown right.

Thanks!

I just told you dude.

If it's that simple, then stick to 32-bit mode! 64- vs 32-bit on OS X is not like on Windows. OS X can run 64-bit apps and address up to 32GB RAM when in 32-bit mode. Read this article:
