antiuser
I successfully installed 10.6.3 on my system using a retail ISO + netbook bootmaker (even though my computer isn't a netbook, it was the only bootloader that worked). I've been using the USB stick to boot for now but I'd rather boot straight from the system drive... would that be at all possible? What bootloader should I use? For the install disc, I tried Chameleon, PC_EFI 9 and Netbook Bootmaker and only the latter worked. It won't install to my system HDD though. Edit: I should add that I don't have any other OSs on this computer, it's solely running OSX.

antiuser
Will Chameleon work even though the disk doesn't have a MBR partition table? Since I installed from a retail disk, it has a GUID table.
Gringo Vermelho
Chameleon works fine on both MBR and GUID. Make sure you install it accordingly, the procedure is different depending on which partition type and filesystem you're using on the partition where you'll be installing it. antiuser
Thanks, it's pretty default (for a mac, haha). GUID disk with a single HFS partition
antiuser
That didn't really work... it still brings up a disk selection screen even though there's only one disk to boot from, and reset my video resolution to 1024x768 with no option to change it (retail install recognised my gpu and monitor just fine). Gringo Vermelho
Chameleon can only do so much by itself. You have to configure it to suit your hardware, there is a learning curve, reading material, decisions to make. Visit the VoodooProjects Forum, general board and read the Chameleon documentation. If you've installed RC5, visit the release thread here on IM and read about the new features that haven't made it into the official docs yet. antiuser
Eh, it's too much of a hassle to be honest. It's booting fine and recognising all of my hardware out of the box from the USB stick, I'll just keep doing that.
