innerlogic
I'm about to buy a new ATI card for my computer to be able to use OSX with full support for 3d and the like. I'm torn between This Sapphire x1600XT and this ASUS x1600XT, i'm not sure which card will work the best. I tried a search on the forums, but i don't know if they are talking about these two cards, or if they work well or not. Anyone have these two cards? or have any other cards out there that work good with OSX so far? DrXenon
I bought the asus card (EAX1600XT Silencer) that comes with the purple breakout cable and got it working using thaToadman's instructions in the Genius Bar at http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=23809 System Profiler reports that QE/CI are supported and I have no artifacts. XBench ran fine, so I think the card is working well. Note, however, that there is at least one person who says that thaToadman's method did not work for him, but he may have tried it in combination with some other methods so he may not have used the method exactly. All I know is it worked for me. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/23919-which-ati-card-give-best-results/#findComment-158976 Share on other sites
