Hey, I'm trying to install hackintosh on my custom built desktop, I was told by a friend that the hazard dvd works well with AMD, but I was not able to boot into the installer, it simply fails after loading a few .kext's.

My hardware is as follows:

- AMD Phenom II X4 955be 3.2ghz

- Gigabyte MA785GT-UD3h

- ATI Radeon 4670 HD

I think that's all that is really applicable.

I have tried using the -v, -x and busratio and cpus but nothing seems to work. I also changed my hdd mode to AHCI, again no success.

Sorry if there is already a solution, I was not able to find anything apart from: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=224650 which did not work for me.

My dvd +rw drive is IDE, could this be causing the issue?

Thanks for any help in advance.

P.s I do have access to a retail disk if you'd suggest the method used here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=227592

I've had the same problem. So the easiest way is to do it is to install it from leopard. You have to start osinstall.mpkg and follow instructions. I've managed to instal SL on mbr without changing osinstall.mpkg. My rig is similar to yours. Only my mb is MSI and proc is athlonIIx4620. Good luck!

I had the exact same problem with almost the exact same hardware. Make sure your sata is in ACPI mode in the bios and 2.0 is enabled. Then take out your video card and use the on board one or a geforce card. It should boot now. Hopefully that helps since no one here helps with {censored} anymore. Took me 5 days to figure it out.

I ended up using nawcom Mod CD and retail 10.6.3 with -x -v flag.

Yeah, I still get kernel panic when trying to install but sometimes it just magically works without me changing anything, unless I don't realize it. It's a pain to get installed but once you do it's great if you can get all the issues solved. Mine runs faster in safe mode than most mac's i've used. I updated to 10.6.5 and lost USB support and couldn't fix it so now I'm reinstalling 10.6.3 again and update again. I'm getting panics right now but it will boot up soon I'm sure.

Did you back up your IOUSBFamily.kext before you updated? Then reinstall
