I installed Snow Leopard on two AMD machines (graphics Nvidia) without any problems. But still there could be things that I forgot. Maybe someone can proof that I have done everything right.

Installation

  • boot with Nawcom BootCD v0.3
  • choose Mac OS Install DVD and install on SATA GUID
  • boot with Nawcom BootCD v0.3
  • boot Macintosh HD
  • install Chameleon 2 RC4
  • install Legacy_Kernel_10.4.pkg (incl. CPUID-patching)

EXTRA

com.apple.Boot.plist

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1680x1050x32</string>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>legacy_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>cpus=1</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>0</string>
<key>Quiet Boot</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>

</dict>
</plist>

Extensions

  • NullCPUPowermanagement.kext
  • AppleVIAATA.kext or AppleNforceATA.kext (depending on chipset)
  • FakeSMC.kext (v2.5)
  • OpenHAltRestart.kext

ROOT

DSDT.aml patched with DSDT Patcher

ISSUES TO SOLVE

  • Safari crashes on http://www.perian.org FIXED
  • one machine can’t restart (monitor goes blank, -v shows no more text, with the BootCD no problems)
  • cpus=1 necessary because WiFi interrupts if both cores are in use

Thanks for any input!
