zeeduckieez
When I boot to my OSX partition, and choose OSX on the Darwin bootloader, it starts loading and then stops at "still waiting for root device". My HDD is set as primary master. Are there any solutions? Do USB mice interfere? Thanks for the help, I'm soo close XD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/23723-got-it-to-install-but-one-last-problem/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
Right before you clicked the "Install" button, you should have clicked the "Customize" button and selected packages to install for your computer. They are revealed by clicking the little arrrows in front of the categories. If you failed to do this, plan on a reinstall. zeeduckieez
Hmm, I selected all the necessary patches for my AMD system, maybe I should reinstall with SSE2 enabled instead of SSE3. WillyDavidK
try setting the jumper to hard master, rather than cable select. Set the cd drive hard slave as well if it's also on primary. zeeduckieez
Ill try that later on. Maybe my hardware has something to do with it? WillyDavidK
well just fyi the error means that darwin can't find the device with os x on it. I had this problem when trying to load the install dvd, but it was finally solved by setting the jumper to master on the drive I was reading it from. How are your 2 optical drives and hard drive configured? Is there anything plugged into the primary slave? More likely than not, you just need to play around with your jumper settings until you get the right combination. WillyDavidK
well first try setting everything hard with the jumpers if they are all on cable select. Then try putting the drive you're loading from on primary slave.
