I have 2 Video Card Nvidia Geforce 7200 GS 128 MB and 256 MB

Both are active and work with 10.5.8 and Win7 - yet do not work in iAtkos 10.6.3.

I have tried various methods to get both working however when a EFI or injector is applied only one is picked up and the other still listed as 'Display' in About My Mac.

Also it always kicks the installation back to 32 bit, before any injectors applied the installation successfully shows as 64 bit via Terminal >> 'uname -a' command.

Any ideas?

Try the method(s) in this thread.

OK, So after reading all that - as I understand, fundamentally I cannot have 64-bit kernel with the Video Cards I am using? Also I will have to modify my DSDT to cater for the 2 video cards?

I do not have too much info so if you help in laymans terms - would be great.

You should be able to use the EFI string method in your com.apple.Boot.plist after getting the correct pci root values for both cards using the gfxutil program. Once you have these values then you need to get the correct nvcap and ram for those cards using the first posting as a template once you have them entered in there you generate the EFI string put it into the Boot.plist reboot and it should just work. Now you would need to remove any injectors you were trying if any otherwise they will conflict and unless you read something specifically in that thread somewhere that said those card will not work in 64bit then I see no reason why they won't. If you are thinking on editing your DSDT then you may as well just test the combined EFI string to confirm it works once this is done then you can take both parts of it putting them into their respect GFX? spots in the DSDT and be done with using the string method from the Boot.plist.

Tried it didnt work :-(

I even patched the dsdt using dsdtSE - really thinking about giving up now! :-(

there must be someway to get both video cards and x86_64 working at the same time... any other ideas before i revert back to 10.5.8 ? anyone?

Thanks.

There are no 64-bit drivers for Geforce 7xxx from 10.6.3 and up.

But that's not important. OS X is not like Windows, if your CPU has the EM64T instruction set, you can run 64-bit apps and address up to 32GB RAM in 32-bit mode.

Thanks Gringo.. So Just because the Driver for the GFX is running in 32-bit mode, the whole of SL isnt and still handle 64-bit apps such as Logic Pro and Final Cut in 64-bit and still reference 64-bit at anyone time.

On another note, does anyone know if the NVIDIA nvs 450 video is supported fully in Snow Leopard? I'm thinking about getting this..?

Thanks
