stargazer418
Hello, I recently installed iAtkos S3v2 on my AMD PC. My motherboard is a Biostar TA780G M2+ with ALC662 audio. The VoodooHDA kext is awful for this (stuttering, static), so I installed the Azalia audio kext off the iAtkos v7 disc. Now sound works perfectly, but I can't change the volume. When I press one of the volume +/- keys on my keyboard, it doesn't change. The same thing happens with the volume slider on the menu bar. The only way I can change the volume is in the System Preferences. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

stargazer418
If you're using AMD like I am, your CPUIDs need patching. Look here: http://osx86.co/f7/volume-control-issue-t6092/ Also, if you're still on 10.6.3, you can upgrade to 10.6.4 by downloading the Combo Update from Apple, installing it WITHOUT RESTARTING, install the 10.6.4 Legacy Kernel (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=221599), and then restart. You will be upgraded to 10.6.4 and it fixes iTunes/Quicktime/volume control in the process.
