Hey All,

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a graphic card with a minidisplay port that will work on a hackintosh with the new 27" Cinema Display. I currently have a hackintosh running 10.6.4 with an 8800 GTS 320. I understand I can get an adapter to get this to work, but I'd rather bite the bullet and buy a better card. This thread seems to indicate only an Apple branded card will work:

Assuming this is the case, will an Apple branded Radeon HD 5770 do the trick?

Any help is appreciated!

I think if you have money go with apple branded HD 5870 , its more future proof and it's the beast in the perfomance. I have xfx 5770 and i am using it with VGA Port. XFX 5770 is nice in perfomance , if you're not gamer then i will suggest you to go for 5770 and if you do somewhat gaming then must go for HD 5870

That's awesome, thanks aniket! Does the Apple branded 5770 "just work" with the hackintosh or will I need to jump through hoops?

I think you should go with XFX HD 5770 it costs around 160$ but apple seems costs around 250$.

Hmm, unless I'm missing something the XFX HD 5770 lacks a minidisplay port. I found this post:

Which seems to indicate the Apple branded HD 5770 will work. I might bite the bullet and pick up the monitor and apple branded card today and see what happens.
