LordPhoenix
Hi Guys, Iam kinda not new here, just been very quiet, learning, I need some direction, the version of Cameleon on the EmpireEFI CD's is the only version of Cameleon that correctly detects my resolution on my laptop as 1280x800, and as a result theres no black lines, and the overal boot process seems more natural, Is there any way to extract that specific version from the CD, I assume the Cameleon boot file is merged/part of the "cdboot" file. Or can someone direct me to a patched Cameleon that correctly detects 16:9 resolutions for an Intel Intergrated Card. Any direction will be appreciated. Thanks guys Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236179-extracting-boot-loader/ Share on other sites

LordPhoenix
Dude, I think you misunderstand. Once in OSX I get full resolution, QE the works, its before it gets to that point that Iam trying to resolve, hence my question. The empireefi cameleon seems todo what I need it todo, but how do I transfer/extract that version. Try changing it in Extra/com.apple.boot.plist. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>y</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1024x768x32</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> </dict> </plist> Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236179-extracting-boot-loader/#findComment-1576223 Share on other sites
LordPhoenix
No my friend, When the Cameleon boot loader presents its screen, and when OSX is loading the Kernel and Boot Screen. I need that resolution fixed. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236179-extracting-boot-loader/#findComment-1576229 Share on other sites
Dellmantt
I assume its in the chameleon theme. Try Lizard app. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236179-extracting-boot-loader/#findComment-1576237 Share on other sites
LordPhoenix
Its got nothing todo with the theme, Its todo with the VESA modes. The version of Cameleon on EmpireEFI somehow injects or detects the correct modes, and sets up native resolution. I need the version of Cameleon on the EmpireEFI discs, or the code that handles VESA injection. Thanks Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236179-extracting-boot-loader/#findComment-1580683 Share on other sites
Dellmantt
Why not ask the author of EmpireEFI? He is easy to find. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236179-extracting-boot-loader/#findComment-1580693 Share on other sites

Dellmantt
I have tried, no response, and I didnt wanne bother him, I thought Id try an figure it out myself, Sure you have a working install of OS X you should be able to get into the empire img/cd PM the link where you got the Empireefi and I will have a look. Am not a guru, but find with a bit of perseverance...... I still don't see what the problem is. If resolution & acceleration is working once booted, why worry. Its like my "about this mac" used to say I had a core solo. but "activity monitor" showed two cores; just cosmetic! LordPhoenix
It is purely cosmetic buddy, but why not get it working if it can work.
