sean89us Posted November 2, 2010 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Hello everyone, I am currently on OS X on my Asus G50VT-X5. It runs really well actually, I used [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] + [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] to install this a few months ago but I've just recently been using it, and I've been using it a lot. So much so that it's become my default OS on my computer, but my problem is that I like to use Skype for webcam and calling, but neither the webcam or the mic work. I have the VoodooHDA Audio driver installed, and it works with the speakers and the audio out, but the mic in jack, and the built in mic don't work, is there maybe a better kext I could use for my audio chip (some type of realtek HD chip)? And for the webcam, I'm pretty sure it's a lost cause, but if anyone has any advice, it would be appreciated. Also I made an interesting discovery, the system sees the webcam, and recognizes what it is, but it doesn't know how to use it more or less. I have also found out that if I open the Microsoft Silverlight preferences, it can see and use the webcam just fine! Just an observation... chameaumangeurdecrapauds Posted December 1, 2010 Share Posted December 1, 2010 I happen to have the same symptoms here on my GA-EG41MFT-US2H concerning the mic, SL was installed with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]+[url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] too. I tried also the voodooHDA, didn't solve the mic problem. Sound output was always working, just the mic never did. I haven't tested a webcam with mic yet, and I wonder if it would workaround the problem when using Skype... Did you solve your problem ? if yes, how ?
