[Solved] Can't boot up SL without BootCD

EDIT: The solution was quite simple. Firstly i downloaded Empire Efi (http://prasys.info/2010/01/empire-efi-v-1-085-is-out/) from Prasys's blog (thanks to prasys for his work and nic0 who directed me there). As the readme said, I first installed myHack that was located in the iso file, rebooted, but didn't boot up without the CD (problem remained) and as a second option, I installed Chameleon that was also located on the iso and that finally worked. That's all

I'll start directly with all necessary information you might need.

 

1) My laptop - Vaio VGN-FW11E (VGN-FW140D), specs are:

• Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 / 2.26 GHz ( Dual-Core )
  
• Hard Drive - 250 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm
  
• Graphics - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 - 256 MB
  
• Chipset - Intel PM45 (Cantiga-PM) + ICH9M (Base)
  
• BIOS - American Megatrends, version R0270Y0
  
• Audio Adapter: Intel 82801IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio [A3]
  
• High Definition Audio Codec: RealTek ALC262
  
• etc.
  

2) Before installation I had Windows 7 installed on my HDD. I managed to install SL using Nawcom's BootCD (http://prasys.info/2010/10/nawcoms-bootcd-the-sucessor-to-empireefi/) on this HDD, which uses MBR partition table. So now I have working SL and Win7 installations.

 

3) Post-installation - the guide to this Nawcom's BootCD says I should run myHack located on the boot CD with the kexts I need etc. So I ran myHack, ran pfix and also using GParted CD set my OS X partition as "boot" and in Win7 using diskpart set this partition active.

After rebooting without the Nawcom's BootCD, computer hangs on the black screen with blicking underscore (the time when it would start booting from the CD) and remains there.

With the CD there is no problem to boot into OS X or Win7.

 

4) Installing kexts - being unable to boot without CD is the reason why all installed kexts by me are not working? For example, I tried VoodooHDA.kext for audio, but there was no effect.

got exact the same problem on a netbook

but i install sl from a usb stick

sl 10.6.3 on usb stick

osinstall installed on usb stick

booting and installing from usb on mbr works fine

sl boots up - using chameleon on osx partition

without usb stick, chameleon shows the osx partition and the win7 partition

if i try the osx partition only the flashing cursor appears...

booting from the usb stick and choosing the osx hdd partition works fine...

 

i also tested guid partition - the same problem - install works fine - but booting sl without the usb stick dont work...

 

any help are welcome
