Don't attempt to install Snow Leopard on old iron like that if you're a noob, and don't listen to people who tell you to use busratio=20, this is not needed on P4 CPUs unless you use a really old beta version of the Voodoo Kernel and a broken old version of Chameleon.

Download and read the Voodoo Kernel manual, and follow the link to the Voodo Kernel developer interview and read it.

Try JaS Client/Server 10.5.4 or iPC 10.5.6 final. Great distros for older P4/Intel boards. Especially JaS should work great for you, if you can find it. Make sure you don't accidentally download one of his older 10.4.x distros though.

Also type P5P800 or P4P800 in the search and see what you can come up with, the boards in that family are very similar and have been Hackintoshed by several people here in the past.

The only big difference between the P4P and the P5P series is that the 4's are socket 478 and the 5's are LGA775, supporting the last series of P4 CPUs, Presler and Cedar Mill.

I dont really know how to put the voodo kernel in to the installation image, do I just copy it over the existing or... Or should I install it after I install the OS on my machine and how...? Have read instructions from the link that you posted but I dont really understand it.. :( I have found iPC_OSx86_Leopard_10_5_6_Intel_AMD_SSE2_SSE3 distribution, it already contains voodo kernel, do I need to do something with it or will it install bu itselve..? Some useful commands would be nice, thank you!

You misunderstand.

Pretty much all hacked DVDs (distros) since 10.5.4 come with at least one version of the voodoo kernel. iPC 10.5.6 boots using Voodoo 9.5.0.

Those instructions don't apply to you (yet). Read the very first line again:

Basics for who is looking to upgrade to 10.5.5 - 10.5.8 on hardware that can't run the Vanilla kernel

I posted the link because (as I said!) I think you should read the manual and the developer interview so that you can learn something about what you're doing.

Ok, I'm sorry for being so boring :( I am writing you right now from Leopard 10.5.6, the iPC dist. worked! A few tips for people who have the same problems:

- Voodo kernel and Chameleon loader are the winning combination

- CLEAR every cpu and gpu clock and restore it to factory settings, at least till the installation is finished, then try and see if it works.

- Turn off memory acceleration mode in BIOS if its on cuz its not supported.

- Choose the correct options (ONE driver for each device), if that one doesnt work, try another! :) Worked for me.

Now the post-installation problems :)

If anyone knows where can i find DRIVERS for:

Graphics: ATI Radeon X1650 Pro - AGP

Sound: C-Media CMI8768 7.1

Network: Realtek RTL8139 (I think)

I have no sound, Graphics driver is for X1600 i think and network is running terribly slow, like 5 KB/s...

If you know any link please post it here! And Gringo Vermelho Thank you very much, you have been very helpful!! Cheers!

My P5P800SE has always had memory acceleration enabled, no problems there. What happens with it enabled?

I have a RTL8139 PCI card in my P4 hackintosh fully working, but I can't get to it at the moment.

I'll attach the driver I'm using later (I can't give you an ETA, sorry).

In the meantime keep searching, there is a community-made driver around somewhere, you have to remove the RTLsomething.kext from the plugins folder of IONetworkingFamily.kext (right-click, show package contents) and replace it with the working driver.
