wesley84
Hello, I'd like to install os x on a friend's external USB 2.0 HD. Is it possible to do this at my house? - Install mac os x regularly via my imac using the original installation dvd - Then install darwin loader or efi and what not to make it run on his pc? Or is this just a pipe dream? Thank you. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/234924-installing-on-usb-drive/ Share on other sites
polvorito
it is possible if you are curious enough and if you document yourself properly. A month and a half ago I didn't know anything about hackintoshes and today I have a perfectly working hack. But it would be a pipe dream to wait for some one to give you a solution that will be magically functional right out of the box Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/234924-installing-on-usb-drive/#findComment-1567845 Share on other sites

The adventage is that I can boot OSX when the USB HD is plugged in, otherwise boot W7 normally.
