kevintroy
Hey all, my names Kevin and I live in Scotland, I LOVE mac products but unfortunately im a student so I can't afford the heavy price tags of their laptops, so I want to install OSx86 Snow Leopard on my laptop and these are my specs (taken from sticker on the laptop so I don't know what some of the terms mean [especially DVMT and FSB] haha): Acer Aspire 5738Z Intel Pentium Processor T4400 (2.2 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) Intel GMA 4500M Up to 796 MB DVMT 2GB Ram 250GB HDD I know from CPU-Z that my system supports SSE 1,2,3 & 3S, ive heard people mention it before so I thought I'd post it, am I able to run Snow Leopard on this system? and if so what release am I looking for (ive heard of iAtkos, iDeneb, iPC OSx86 but I don't know the difference) and what options should I be choosing during setup for my system? Thanks to anyone who can help me!

3.14r2
Install a PS/2 driver (use only one version - not several at once). Like this (snow leopard only) or VoodooPS2Controller. Use an USB keyboard and mouse till you get the internal keyboard and trackpad working.
kevintroy
3.14r2: thank you SO much! I've got it working on a USB mouse and keyboard, im so happy with it!!, now all I need help with is trying to set up my trackpad and keyboard on the laptop as well as my internet (wireless), can anybody help with this? EDIT: Also, is there anyway for me to change my resolution from 1280x768 to 1366x768 (thats the normal resolution) as its not shown under display resolutions iTunes doesnt recognise my ipod touch 3g, it shows up when plugged in (on the desktop, not itunes) and asks me if i want to download the photos from it EDIT 2: I got the keyboard and trackpad to work by reinstalling SL and adding the PS/2 keyboard/mouse option now all I need help with is the internet, resolution and iTunes
